Samantha took her first programming class as a High School Senior on account of Spanish 4 being schedule conflicted, though she had been tinkering with computers from the early 1980s. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Computer Science in 1998. She has worked at such places as Deloitte, Kroll, Bytes of Knowledge, and Active Network.
In her spare time she works on the CMS that has come to be named CarrotCake, a project that goes back to 2001 as a private source project, that she moved to open source in 2011. The project can be followed on her website (www.carrotware.com) or on the Carrotware product page on Google+, as well as google code, source forge, and codeplex.
