I'm a community fellow at the Wikimedia Foundation focused on the gender gap. I'm a long time Wikimedian and passionate about "open stuff," specifically copyfree fine art and culture. I also do outreach to cultural organizations and I have had the pleasure of serving as the Wikipedian in Residence at the Smithsonian Institution. I'm a former make up artist and DJ turned museum curator. I have my MA in Museum Studies and my BA in Native American Studies. I live in Oakland.
I serve on the advisory board for the Ada Initiative. My feminist tendencies stem from the third wave movement, with my heart still lying in a pool of blood known as the riot grrrl movement. I still get angry..actually I'm still mad as hell.
When not geeking out about open stuff, I'm geeking out about music (punk, rock n' roll, industrial, new wave, noise), wine, food, travel and passion.
